Eligibility for UP PCS Exam

The educational qualification required for UPPSC Combined State / Upper Subordinate exam is a Bachelor Degree from any recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the government.

Age Limit for UP PCS Exam

The Minimum Age to appear in UPPSC Civil Services Exam is 21 years as of 1st July of the examination year.

  • Executive (General):21 – 40 Years
  • OBC / SC / ST (UP Domicile):21 – 45 Years
  • DSP Post (General):21 – 40 Years (Physical criteria applies)
  • PH Candidates:Up to 55 Years

Permissible Attempts

There is no specific cap on the number of attempts for UP PCS candidates as long as they satisfy the upper age limit criteria.

  • General Category:Till 40 Years
  • OBC / SC / ST Category:Till 45 Years
  • PH Category:Till 55 Years

Candidates are eligible until they reach the maximum prescribed upper age limit.

UP PCS Prelims Exam Pattern

The UP PCS Prelims Exam contains two objective papers. Paper-I marks determine Prelims cutoff, while Paper-II (CSAT) is qualifying with 33% minimum marks.
